About Waikanae
Waikanae is located on the beautiful Kāpiti Coast, less than one hour north of Wellington. Situated across from Kāpiti Island, it is surrounded by amazing vistas, the Waikanae River, native bush and birdlife that has to be seen to be believed.
Within 15 - 20 minutes you can be in Te Horo or Otaki heading north, or Paraparaumu and Raumati heading south. This makes Waikanae a beautiful, peaceful place to be based while you explore everything our region has to offer.
With two well-regarded primary schools up to Year 8, a Montessori Preschool, Kindergarten and several daycare centres, Waikanae is also a fantastic place to raise a family.
